W. Craig Scruton (N GA Market Leader)

Craig’s career of success spans three decades and a diverse range of commercial real estate (CRE) product types. His depth of knowledge and experience includes: sales, leasing, investment sales, sale-leasebacks, development, acquisitions, property/asset management, financing, project/construction management, financial modeling and underwriting, advisory/consulting, appraisal/valuation, investing, tax reduction appeals. Over the course of his dedicated career as a real estate broker, Craig has been instrumental in executing over $1 billion in real estate transactions, over all product categories.

Craig is a graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. in Business Management with concentrations in Finance & Marketing and also graduated with an M.B.A. from Syracuse with a major in Computer Information Systems for Business. He resides in Dahlonega and enjoys hiking, golf, is an avid snow skier and loves collecting & restoring vintage motorcycles.

Representative clients/projects:

1980’s: Syracuse, NY – Responsible for managing & leasing a 1.5M square foot portfolio of office, retail, industrial and residential properties throughout Central and Western New York, from Rochester to Utica.

1990’s: Atlanta, GA – While a broker with the national commercial real estate firms, Marcus & Millichap and Julien J. Studley, Inc., Craig specialized in office and industrial investment property sales throughout the southeast in the $1M to $35M value range, and advised many local, regional and national mid to top level investors, wealthy families and corporations.

2000’s: Craig was a founding member and managing broker for Atlanta Leasing & Investment which handled all the leasing, investment sales & asset management of Margolias Realty Group’s, 3M SF diverse commercial property holdings, and assisted the family in exiting their entire real estate portfolio from ‘06 -‘08.

2010’s: Craig worked with Capital Commercial Investments (funded by The Baupost Group) where he leased & asset managed their 1.2M SF Atlanta office & industrial portfolio. These assets were profitably divested during a difficult market.  Subsequently Craig formed an alliance in 2013 with hedge fund Oaktree Capital to lead a value add strategy on the 635,000 SF, American Business Center & White Water Business Parks, 100 tenant business complexes located in Marietta; exited in 2016, achieving handsome returns.

2020’s:  After reuniting on several brokerage assignments, Craig and Dave launched North Georgia Commercial to provide big-city quality commercial real estate services to the North Georgia region utilizing the tools and resources of the Atlanta Leasing & Investment platform.
